It was a wonderful concert by our graduating violin and viola students held at the Colburn School of Music on March 21, 2010.
Students from Twinkle Variations through the Mendelssohn Concerto performed at this concert. Many thanks to our devoted teachers who prepared their students well. This year, more than 25 violin-viola teachers participated, involving more than 175 students.
The process of graduation was developed by Dr. Suzuki and has been carried out for more than 30 years in Los Angeles. Students make recordings of their level pieces which are then sent to appointed listener teachers. Listeners make helpful comments and suggestions, and provide encouragement. These recordings are returned to the students at the concert when they also receive their graduation diplomas and violin pins.
Many thanks to our parents and teachers and, of course, our students. It was truly a joy to attend this year's concert.
