The Suzuki Music Association of California is a nonprofit
organization of Suzuki teachers and families who support and promote the principles
and ideals of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.
The Suzuki Approach is the work of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, a Japanese pedagogue. Dr. Suzuki believed that with the proper education and environment, every child can learn to play a musical instrument. Talent can be nurtured, ability can be developed, and just as each child learns to speak his native language, he can learn a musical skill. For that reason, Dr. Suzuki often referred to his Suzuki approach as “Talent Education” or “Mother Tongue” method.
